THE CAPTAIN'S RETREAT

   Bed & Breakfast
ABOUT

ABOUT

The Captain’s Retreat is a comfortable, casual Bed & Breakfast nestled in the heart of Ninilchik. The location is ideal, close to the launch on the beach where all charter boats are put in to start your fishing adventure. Captain Ran Murphy and his daughter Claire Johnson will attend to your every need. He and Claire can share many references and information about Ninilchik, the Kenai Peninsula, and Alaska as well as fishing charters nearby. The owners have traveled quite extensively in Alaska before opening the B&B, so they are a great source of information. Claire lives in Anchorage year round. Our prices are very reasonable and include delicious home baked breakfast goodies and lots of freshly brewed coffee. A full breakfast is available upon request. All towels and linens are included. Stay with us, you will not regret your choice for the best local hospitality and we are sure you will be back!

SEE & DO

VISITING NINILCHIK

Salmon Fishing

Centrally located on the Kenai Peninsula both the Ninilchik and Deep Creek Rivers empty into the Cook Inlet providing excellent salmon fishing.

Charter Fishing

Charter boats launch from the beach just 5 minutes from the BNB. Half day and full day trips for Halibut and Salmon charters are a great way to bring home a piece of Alaska.

Ninilchik Town

The old fishing village dates back to Alaska’s Russian occupation. The Russian Orthodox Church overlooking the village is said to be the most photographed church in Alaska.

Sightseeing

The breath taking views of the Alaska Range across the Cook Inlet on a clear day, which sometimes includes a sighting of as many as four volcanoes, is spectacular.

Eating

The Buzz Café, known for it’s Bean Freeze and the best cup of coffee in Alaska is a must! Post office, emergency services and local health clinic are nearby as well as restaurants, bar, and liquor stores.

Shopping

Wander into the General Store in Ninilchik where you can find anything you forgot to bring, groceries, boxed lunches, and great gifts for the folks at home. Local fish processing and shipping is easily accessible in town.
